I saw a quote today, it read ‘you jump off a cliff and assemble an aeroplane on the way down’ and it made me think.
I have learnt more in my life from getting stuck in to a challenge before I was really ‘ready’ than I have from any other form of learning. It taught me resilience, problem solving skills, how to collaborate and very creative thinking!
We spend a lot of time ‘preparing’ for the big goals – sometimes you just have to take a risk, be decisive and take that leap. When you do, whatever the outcome you will learn so much more than you can from any book or training course. And if you are successful you will feel invincible!
So – today, reflect. When have you learnt from jumping in at the deep end? What did you lose? What big leaps could you take next? Just do it.. DO IT!
And remember.. in the words of David Lloyd George “Don’t be afraid to take a big step if one is indicated. You can’t cross a chasm in two small jumps”
