Here in the UK and in Europe we are entering Springtime. A glorious time of the year when green leaves are unfurling, bluebells are bobbing and lambs are leaping. It really is a time when everything is ‘springing’ into life.

It’s also a time when a lot of us are suddenly compelled to ‘Spring Clean’

But why?

Actually it is simple biology

  • During winter, we’re exposed to less sunlight due to shorter, often dreary days.
  • With a lack of exposure to light, the pineal gland produces melatonin – a hormone that produces sleepiness in humans.
  • Conversely, when we’re exposed to sunlight, our bodies produce much less melatonin and we have more energy!

So with this extra energy we see the things that need to be done, cleaned, thrown out etc. and we are more inclined to get on with it.

Suddenly those cluttered cupboards are just not to be borne any more and the dust on top of the wardrobe is so much more visible when the days are brighter..

But what does that have to do with anything relevant to you on Linked In…? Why am I talking about spring cleaning..??

Because there is no better time than now to get your feather duster out and spring clean your life and your business..!

If you are lucky enough to live and work in a country which is moving into the winter months now, or indeed your sun rises and sets at the same time all year around, use this as your prompt to have a little de-clutter anyway.
